{"id":9285,"date":"2018-06-04T21:30:23","date_gmt":"2018-06-05T02:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/darserca.wwwmi3-ts1.a2hosted.com\/wp\/?p=9285"},"modified":"2018-06-04T21:30:23","modified_gmt":"2018-06-05T02:30:23","slug":"art-for-heart-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/darserca.org\/pl\/2018\/06\/04\/art-for-heart-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Art for Heart 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8948\" alt=\"Art for Heart (2)\" src=\"https:\/\/darserca.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Art-for-Heart-2-300x219.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/darserca.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Art-for-Heart-2-300x219.png 300w, https:\/\/darserca.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Art-for-Heart-2-1024x747.png 1024w, https:\/\/darserca.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Art-for-Heart-2-768x561.png 768w, https:\/\/darserca.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Art-for-Heart-2-1536x1121.png 1536w, https:\/\/darserca.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Art-for-Heart-2-2048x1495.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>An Invitation to Chicagoland Artists of Polish Descent!<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2011, Gift from the Heart Foundation (Dar Serca) in partnership with the Polish Museum of America debuted Art for Heart, a weekend-long art fundraiser celebrating Polish and Polish-American artists while benefitting both foundations.<\/p>\n<p>That weekend, the exhibit attracted over 500 guests to the Polish Museum of America to view the artwork of more than a dozen local artists, sample great food and drink and support the children of Gift from the Heart Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Art for Heart is again proud to present an opportunity for Chicago\u2019s talented Polish and Polish-American artists to share their artwork with the community.&nbsp; The exhibit will take place September 8<sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">th<\/span><\/sup>-30<sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">th<\/span><\/sup>, 2018 at The Polish Museum of America.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Submission Rules<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All artists must complete an application form.<\/li>\n<li>All artwork must be the artist\u2019s original work.<\/li>\n<li>All artwork must be for sale.<\/li>\n<li>All artwork must be submitted in one (or more) of the following art categories:<\/li>\n<li><strong> 2-D Mixed Media <\/strong>\u2013<em> Includes collage and handmade paper; incorporates more than one type of material and has relief depth of less than 1\/8 inch.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>3-D Mixed Media &amp; Sculpture <\/strong>\u2013 <em>Original, non- functional, free- standing work of any material. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Ceramics <\/strong>\u2013 <em>Original shaped and fired clay (including earthenware, porcelain, stoneware and terra cotta).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Digital Art <\/strong>\u2013 <em>Original, two-dimensional works utilizing computer technology to craft or manipulate visual images. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Functional Art <\/strong>\u2013 <em>A functional, three-dimensional object which serve a purpose such as fiber objects, furniture, toys, wind chimes, etc.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Glass <\/strong>\u2013 <em>An object made of glass (including blown glass and stained glass).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Jewelry <\/strong>\u2013 <em>The use of several different materials (such as clay, glass, metal and wood) to form a body adornment.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Painting<\/strong> \u2013 <em>The use of oil, acrylics, watercolor and tempera on canvas or board.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Photography <\/strong>\u2013 <em>Prints or transparencies must be from original negatives<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong> Works on Paper<\/strong> \u2013 <em>A two-dimensional design on paper (including drawings, etchings, monoprints, pastels and silkscreens)<br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Deadline for submissions is Sunday, June 24<sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">th<\/span><\/sup>, 2018<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A panel of jurors will select up to ten (10) artists to participate in Art for Heart. Artists will be notified of the final selection by <u>July 13<sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">th<\/span><\/sup>, 2018<\/u>.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions?
